In the spirit of my Happiness Project‘s month of friendship, I thought I’d share a letter I wrote to my best friend Megan for her to read on her wedding–which is, incidentally, today. (Pictures & blog posts to follow!)
You are the kindest, most thoughtful, most generous friend I have ever had. I know that, especially, because you became my friend when I had none. You walked with me through that chapter of my life and the next—getting engaged, getting pregnant, getting married, getting Penelope, and raising her ever since. I can’t thank you enough for that. Now it’s your turn today and I can’t wait to walk beside you, too. I know you’ll do things differently that I did and do. Most things you’ll do better. But I hope I can help you a fraction as much as you helped me. I’m beyond excited to try, and to see you become wife and (someday) mother. Megan, you deserve all of the happiness God can muster and I know you’ll feel it today when you step into your beautiful, when you walk on air towards your husband, when the love inside and all around you rushes over you like a warm whirlwind, and when the day is over and tomorrow you wake up a new woman—the one you were always meant to be.
Love forever & always,
your grateful matron of honor.
